Posh Society is a startup based in New York.  Posh Society is a Social - Entertainment website that provides college students a social forum, on a national basis allowing them to quickly access, view, and be able to provide commentary on other students in a secured system and on an anonymous basis.  Posh Society started off as an idea in a dorm room four years ago and grew into a reality.  We are a new company with a new vision and we are looking for the brightest, passionate, and most energetic people on the face of this earth.

Title:

Content Administrator  - Full-time In-House Position

 

Requirement:  Must love gossip tabloids which include but are not limited to Perezhilton, TMZ, Us Weekly, Star Magazine, Life & Style, OK Weekly. 

 

Description:

Posh Society is seeking a content administrator that will act the role of an entertainment magazine editor and monitor content that is being uploaded onto the website.  We are looking for smart, enthusiastic motivated individuals that are entertaining, love gossip, are very creative, and are great writers.  The ideal candidate is one who has recently graduated college this past May or a few years out and one that is still in touch with the college scene. 

 

 

Title:

Web Developer & System Administrator –Full-time In-House Position

 

Skills:

PHP, MySQL, Apache, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, C/C++. Python, SVN, Linux,

 

 

Description:

 

At Posh Society, our strategy is simple. We hire the smartest and most passionate people we can find. 

 

We are seeking an expert PHP Developer & System Administrator to join our tech team. Successful candidate will have at minimum 4 years experience deploying scalable PHP applications and five years of general software development experience. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

*Roll-out dependable software to support high traffic and paying online consumers 

 

*Establish engineering best practices such as code reviews, design guidelines, and check-in policies 

 

*Improve performance, scalability, and availability of our systems 

 

*Communicate with technology and business teammates, as well as external partners 

 

Qualifications: 

 

*4 yrs demonstrated coding skills in PHP 

 

*4 years of MySQL development experience 

 

*6 years of software development experience 

 

*Expert with Apache 

 

*SVN or similar version control experience 

 

*Strong Javascript/AJAX/JSON skills are a plus 

 

*Experience working with C/C++, Python 

 

*Knowledge of Linux and open-source technologies 

 

*Familiarity with agile development practices 

 

System Admin: 

 

Responsibilities include:

*Manage a team to plan, design and build a highly scalable and robust technical web infrastructure

*Manage the production environment; ensuring it is online and running quickly and smoothly

*Help create and stick to the annual hardware budget

 

Technical skills and experience:

*5+ years experience as a Linux sys admin

*Experience writing code using PHP (2+ years)

*Strong understanding of how Internet technology "works"

*Experience maintaining high traffic DB architecctures. A MySQL "ninja" a stong plus

*Experience building a highly scalable, multi-tiered production webenvironment (Apache)

*Understanding of Load Balancing, DB Replication, system redundancies, system tuning, etc.

*Ability to manage large and complex technical projects w/ attention to quality and to deadlines

*Must have a passion for technology and for open source software

*Must have good communication skills and work well in a team environment.
